Waterways all over the US, are quietly being commandeered by oil companies. In New York, Shell is moving forward with a 1.48 square mile, Yankee Stadium sized imported gas facility, and they're building it right smack in the middle of Long Island Sound. Even if you don't give a hoot about Long Island Sound and the rich people who live along the coast, it's hard to get comfortable with five people in Washington having the power to hand over 1.4 square miles of US waterways to a Dutch oil company and Algerian and Libyan tankers. They say it will create jobs but the average LNG terminal employs only twenty people. They say it will save us money, but it wont, gas prices have been rising for years. They say it's safe. Really? Then why are they hiring a retired brigadier general to help protect it? Fact is, there's only one reason why Shell and TransCanada want to build this thing: New York and Connecticut are profitable energy markets and they want a $2.5 Billion piece of the action. It's all about money folks. If you think this is about the environment, well, that's exactly what Shell wants you to think. Get the facts, http://www.fraudwater.comAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
