Nassau County Is Now The Center Of The Universe
...Or so local officials would have us believe.
Earthquakes in Haiti and Chile. Shifting of the Earth's rotation. Shortening of days. The end of the world as we know it.
Not to worry. This isn't an episode from the Twilight Zone, or a preview of 2012.
It's just Nassau County, New York, where it's more The Day The Earth Stood Still than anything earth-shaking.
Does it seem like same old, same old in your corner of Long Island? Same politics? Same stale ideas (or no ideas at all)? Even the same faces?
To us, it's not as if the good Earth has tilted toward the sun, or even away from it. More like we've stopped rotating altogether. Frozen in time. Lost in space.
